The West Indies cricket team had a dismal start to the 3-match Test series against Pakistan. They were thoroughly beaten and outplayed by the visitors at the Sabina Park. The hosts had an early jitter in the Test when they were restricted to 71/5 at one stage on the day 1 of the first game. Shane Dowrich and Roston Chase then put on a brilliant 118 run stand to help Windies savor some pride in the innings.

A six-wicket haul fro Mohammad Amir had dented them in the first innings. Pakistan managed to take a handy lead in the first innings to be in command of the game. While the West Indies batters succumbed to pace in the first innings, they fell to the spin of Yasir Shah in the second innings. They bundled out for a mere 152 in the second innings and that saw them set a target of only 32 runs.

Pakistan team chased down the target with 7 wickets in hand. Now, the action moves to Kensington Oval at Barbados for the second Test. The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced an unchanged squad for the second Test. Jason Holder will lead the team. Kraigg Brathwaite and Kieran Powell will continue to open the innings. Both batsmen had got starts in the previous game.

Shai Hope gets another go despite having a poor outing in the previous game. Roston Chase and Shane Dowrich look very settled in the middle order and Shimron Heytmer looked decent for his first appearance in the Test cricket. The bowling was impressive with Shannon Gabriel and Alzarri Joseph bowling with pace. The spin department has Devendra Bishoo who needs to step up to the occasion.

West Indies Squad for 2nd Test against Pakistan:

Jason Holder (Captain), Devendra Bishoo, Jermaine Blackwood, Kraigg Brathwaite, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Shimron Hetmyer, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Kieran Powell and Vishaul Singh.
