The Sri Lankan cricket team managed to post a victory in the third and final ODI of the three-match ODI series against the Indian cricket team. And, West Indies cricketing legend Brian Lara offered his thoughts on the upcoming T20I series between India and Sri Lanka.

Lara opined that winning the third ODI will give Sri Lanka some confidence when they face up against the Indian side in the T20I series. However, Lara added that he still expects India to win the three-match T20I series 2-1.

Lara concluded by stating that without the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and his young brigade will post a come from behind 2-1 victory in the T20I series.

“Here we are, in the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka in the T20I version of the game. Now, India won the 50 overs series 2-1, with Sri Lanka winning the last match. And I believe that will give Sri Lanka a little bit of confidence to go out and win the first T20I. I still expect India to win, and it could be a 2-1 series win in favour of India.

Without the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, I still expect India to win the series, but it is going to be one where they may have to come from behind,” said Lara in a video posted on his official Twitter handle.
