Australia Women continue their domination over the West Indies Women with yet another big win to seal the 3-match ODI series. For the 2nd time in as many matches, the visiting team posted 300+ total while batting first. Ellyse Perry, who came up to bat at No.3 in the absence of Meg Lanning, scored an unbeaten 112 while Alyssa Healy, Beth Mooney and Ashleigh Gardner scored fifties. The Caribbean team were never in the chase and could only finish with 157/8 despite batting full 50 overs.

Gardner’s record fifty:

23 – Ashleigh Gardner’s 23-ball fifty is the joint-fastest half-century in ODI cricket for Australia Women. Meg Lanning also scored a 23-ball fifty during the 2012 Sydney ODI against New Zealand Women.

Perry goes past Brunt:

149 – Number of wickets for Ellyse Perry in ODI cricket; the 3rd most by any player in Women’s ODI cricket. Perry went past Katherine Brunt’s tally of 148 wickets and is only behind Jhulan Goswami (218) and Cathryn Fitzpatrick (180).

A proper team effort for the Aussies:

6 – As many as four players recorded a fifty-plus score for Australia in this match; the 6th instance of four half-centurions in a Women’s ODI innings. This is the 2nd such instance for the Aussies as four players scored fifties against England during the 2017 Women’s Ashes match.

2 – Australia record only the 2nd instance in Women’s ODI cricket where a team had four different players scoring 50+ runs and six different players picking up at least wicket in the same match. Four Sri Lankan Women scored fifties and seven players took at least one wicket during the 2013 CWC match against India. Five teams recorded this feat in Men’s ODI cricket with the last one being the 2016 England-Pakistan ODI in Nottingham.

Perry and all-round doubles:

2 – Ellyse Perry has taken one wicket in both matches where she scored an ODI century. Only four other Women have scored a century and taken a wicket in the same ODI more than once. Overall, this was the 18th time Perry has scored 50+ runs and took at least one wicket in the same ODI. Only Stafanie Taylor (27) recorded this double more often in Women’s ODI cricket.

5 – Number of instances of a player opening the bowling after scoring a century in Women’s ODI cricket. Perry and England’s Carole Hodges opened the bowling on both instances where they scored an ODI hundred. The other such instance was recorded by Deandra Dottin as she opened the bowling after scoring her maiden ODI ton during the 2017 World Cup game against Pakistan.
