Bangladesh have already secured a series win in their three-match ODI affair against Sri Lanka. At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka, the team, led by Tamim Iqbal, has restricted the Lankans with some tidy display of bowling and has come out trumps without dropping much sweat.

Mushfiqur Rahim has been exceptional as he is the leading run-scorer of the series with 209 runs at an average of 104.50. The Bogra-born oozed confidence after his 125 in the second ODI. Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been a tough not to crack and has risen to no.2 in the ICC rankings for ODI bowlers.

For Lanka, it’s been a sorry state of affairs. Barring Wanindu Hasaranga’s 74 in the first game and Dushmantha Chameera’s opening spell in the previous match, the Islanders have faltered big time. In the third and final ODI on Friday, May 28, Lanka will be looking for 10 crucial Super League points.

Bangladesh

Mohammad Saifuddin was ruled out midway through the second ODI after he suffered concussion while batting. He’s under a 24-hour observation and if he makes the cut, Taskin Ahmed might have to warm the benches. Taskin is yet to get a wicket, but bowled his heart out in the second game.

There are concerns over Liton Das’ form as well. Shoriful Islam went for two sixes in his final over, but he had an impressive ODI debut as he dismissed Kusal Perera. Shakib Al Hasan is also in with a chance of surpassing Mashrafe Mortaza as Bangladesh’s highest-wicket taker in the one-day format.

Predicted XI

Tamim Iqbal (C), Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Mahmudullah Riyad, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mohammad Saifuddin/Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam

Bench: Mahedi Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Mithun, Mohammad Saifuddin/Taskin Ahmed

Sri Lanka

Danushka Gunathilaka and Kusal Perera have gotten starts, but couldn’t convert and the duo needs to take a bit more responsibility at the top. The middle-order has looked lacklustre, to say the least. The likes of Kusal Mendis and Pathum Nissanka have found the going tough in the middle overs.

The Lankans might rope in Niroshan Dickwella and Akila Dananjaya to lend their side more balance. Hasaranga has gotten only one wicket, but with an economy of 4.05. Chameera and Lakshan Sandakan have four wickets each. Isuru Udana has been expensive with an economy of 5.94.

Predicted XI

Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Perera (C and WK), Kusal Mendis, Pathum Nissanka, Dananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka, Wanindu Hasaranga, Isuru Udana/Akila Dananjaya, Ashen Bandara/Niroshan Dickwella, Dushmantha Chameera, Lakshan Sandakan

Bench: Ramesh Mendis, Niroshan Dickwella/Ashen Bandara, Akila Dananjaya/Isuru Udana, Asitha Fernando, Chamika Karunaratne, Shiran Fernando, Binura Fernando
