Pakistan Women and West Indies Women are all set to lock horns in a three-match T20I series. The opening game is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, June 30 at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.

The hosts have already named a strong 13-member squad, led by Stafanie Taylor. Veteran all-rounder Anisa Mohammed has been appointed as Taylor’s deputy. Kycia Knight and Kyshona Knight, the twin sisters, have made their way back into the squad.

Leg-spinner Afy Fletcher and batter Shemaine Campbelle couldn’t retain their places in the squad after the T20Is last year against England. Pakistan, on the other hand, would be without veteran Bismah Maroof. The visitors will be captained by Javeria Khan.

The visitors have named a 26-member squad from which the Pakistan national and the ‘A’ team will be selected. In the T20 format, West Indies have mostly dominated their Asian opponent.

Playing combination for WIW vs PAKW

West Indies Women

Hayley Matthews and Deandra Dottin are most likely to open the batting for the home team. Dottin has the potential to play the big shots and can help her team take advantage of the powerplay.

Apart from their batting prowess, both Dottin and Matthews are more than handy with the ball in hand. Stafanie Taylor remains a stalwart in the team as she’s delivered, time and again, for West Indies.

In the bowling department, Shakera Selman and Shamilia Connell need to get the early breakthroughs. Anisa Mohammed is the all-time leading wicket-taker in women’s T20Is as she has to perform as well.

Predicted XI

Hayley Matthews, Deandra Dottin, Stafanie Taylor (C), Chedean Nation (wk), Britney Cooper, Kyshona Knight, Chinelle Henry, Aaliyah Alleyne, Anisa Mohammed, Shakera Selman, Shamilia Connell

Bench: Kycia Knight, Karishma Ramcharak

Pakistan Women

Nida Dar is set to become the first Pakistani women’s bowler to amass 100 wickets in the T20I format. The 34-year-old is only one wicket short of the milestone.

She is the fifth-highest wicket-taker in women’s T20Is. The veteran also has 1817 runs in the format with four half-centuries. Javeria and Nahida Khan have been prolific run-scorers for them and need to step up.

Aliya Riaz has been one of their key all-rounders and the onus will be on her as well. Nashra Sandhu and Diana Baig lead Pakistan’s bowling attack more often than not and they need to be on top of their game.

Predicted XI

Javeria Khan (C), Muneeba Ali, Omaima Sohail/Nahida Khan, Ayesha Zafar, Nida Dar, Aliya Riaz, Sidra Nawaz (wk), Diana Baig, Sadia Iqbal, Fatima Sana/Aiman Anwar, Nashra Sandhu
