Pakistan may have started with a bang for the visitors after they beat England in the 1st Test of the four match series at London. However, things were as jubilant as it was yesterday when Pakistan toured the country last time in 2010.

The series, six years ago, was marred by the Mohammad Amir-Mohammad Asif-Salman Butt spot fixing scandal. The infamous saga overshadowed a couple of other things which would grab the headlines on any other normal day. The same match saw Stuart Broad hit his career best knock of 169. A few days ago people missed out a brawl on the cricket field.

England had initially planned to boycott the ODI series following the spot fixing gate. But, the series went on as per the schedule.

The after effect of the ugly controversy was visible in the ODI series as well after Pakistan seamer Wahab Riaz and England batsman Jonathan Trott got into a fight during practice sessions. The ugly spat took place before the 4th ODI at Lord’s itself. The matter became very tense and stretched to a point both the cricketers got involved in a physical fight with Trott ending up grabbing Riaz’s throat.

England batting coach Graham Gooch had to intervene to separate the cricketers. Both the players were summoned to the Marylebone Cricket Club office by match referee Jeff Crowe which delayed the toss. Pakistan won that match but lost the series 3-2.

According to reports, It was Trott who pricked the mercurial fast bowler. The situation went out of control when Trott mocked Riaz saying, “How much are you going to make from the bookies today?”
