It has been quite a while that Indian cricketers have established their world-class image, and counterparts look up to them several times. Recently, Pakistan’s former great batsman Zaheer Abbas, who was inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame, gave cricketers of his nation great advice. He said that batsmen in his country should learn from Indian players. One player is always there in Men in Blue to lend a hand when the team needs the most, he added.

It was only a few days ago that former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar praised Indian players and said there’s a lot to learn from Virat Kohli. He was even much criticized by his countrymen for openly praising their arch-rivals on social media. Abbas is a new entry in the league and feels Indians always try their best to deliver when the team is caught in the tight spot. He also said the players need to learn from each other as well.

“You look at how their (India’s) batsmen perform nowadays. Whenever the team is in trouble, somebody comes and scores. This is what I want Pakistan to learn,” Abbas spoke in a YouTube show named Cricket Baaz.

“If you say that Rohit Sharma is good. Then, you should learn from him. Watch him, see how plays, observe his technique. I used to watch and learn from Hanif Mohammad, Rohan Kanhai. I didn’t go and train with them, I just learned after observing their batting,” he added.

Players’ association decides on a lot of things: Zaheer Abbas

The former legend spoke on the fact that back at their time, there were no experts to guide the team. There were only managers who accompanied the team, and still, people did wonders, and batsmen now can definitely do great having so much support. He also spoke that players association should be good enough so that team can collectively touch new highs.

“There should always be a players’ association, which is strong. People generally listen to it. Other countries have it, the players’ association decides on a lot of things. The security of the players rest with the association, they help in coordination between the players and the board,” he concluded.
