Pakistan cricket has had its struggles on the field has been fighting different wars off the field with terrorists troubling them since 2009 and bookies also getting hands on many of the Pakistan players, there have never been good times for Pakistan cricket fans recently.
Sana Mir, the women’s team skipper was ruthless when she said that the players who are indulging in spot-fixing should be cleaved apart and banned for life. She sounded firm and confident while stating the same. “Match-fixing and spot-fixing had brutally damaged the image of Pakistan cricket as well as that of Pakistan,” said Mir while talking to the Dawn Newspaper.
She said that fixing is a very serious issue and is against the ethics of the game. It disrespects the whole cricketing fraternity and should be dealt with extremely seriously. “This is a very serious issue and should be dealt with accordingly. The players found guilty of fixing should not be allowed to represent Pakistan again,” opined Sana.
Pakistan have recently suspended five of their international players for alleged involvement in spot-fixing during the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Khan, Nasir Jamshed and paceman Mohammad Irfan are the players. It is still under investigation but if proven guilty the Pakistan Cricket Board will not show any mercy.
The women’s team captain Sana Mir said that whoever disrespects the green shirt should be shown no mercy at all. “Whoever disrespects the green-shirt should be banned and punished without any mercy,” she was quoted saying while talking to the reporters on Monday at the National Stadium.
There have been instances where Pakistan players have been banned for years. Salman Butt is one of them and he is about to make his comeback after being banned for more than six years. Mohammad Amir has already made a comeback to the Pakistan cricket team as Pakistan looks to eradicate the spot fixing from its country.
