Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer, didn’t have the greatest of careers, donning the national jersey. His career spanned a bit over a year from 2003 to 2004. Though he started with scores of 60 and 52 in his first two Tests against New Zealand, he couldn’t carry on the momentum. Albeit he got scores in the 30s and 40s, that he couldn’t convert the starts didn’t help his cause.

After the home Tests against Australia in 2004, he lost his place from the Indian team once and for all. The right-hander was also a part of the team on the tour of Australia in 2003-04. He played all the four Tests, but could muster only 186 runs from at an average of 23.25. His top score of 48 came in the first innings of the third Test at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

In the meantime, from the very series, Chopra reminisced a moment when Brett Lee rattled his woodwork. It was during the fourth and final Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Chopra was batting on 45 after his 123-run partnership with Virender Sehwag. The match also happened to be Steve Waugh’s last in competitive cricket. Regarding the dismissal, Chopra trolled himself.

Hilariously, Chopra believes that Lee shouldn’t have bowled it to him. Rather, he should’ve saved it for Sachin Tendulkar, who notched an unbeaten 241* after coming to bat following Chopra’s dismissal. The Master Blaster shared a 353-run stand for the fourth wicket along with Rahul Dravid, who scored 178 off 298, taking India to safer shores in the contest. .

He captioned the video and wrote, “I’ve seen this a thousand times…played it in my head same number of times too. Unfortunately, for the exact same result. @BrettLee_58, why waste such a good delivery on me?? Should’ve saved it for @sachin_rt….I got out, he walked in and we know what happened next. 241*”

India declared after scoring 705 for seven and then bowled the Aussies out for 474, taking a humongous 231-run lead. Even in the second innings, India declared, setting the hosts a target of 443 runs. Chopra got out cheaply in the second innings, falling prey to Jason Gillespie.
