Team Pakistan has received a huge blow ahead of their first Test against the West Indies. Young pace bowler Hasan Ali has been ruled out of the fixture starting on April 21 (Friday). Pakistan are scheduled to play 3 Tests in the series with the first Test to be played at the Sabina Park. As per the recent reports in Geo. tv, Hasan Ali has failed to recover from a groin injury.

Hence, his participation in the match has been ruled out. Ali had endured the injury during the practice match fixture at Montego Bay ahead of the first Test match. Ali was soon sent for assessment on the injury. The clinical reports suggested that he had strained one of his adductor muscles.

The Pakistan Cricket Board released a statement recently that confirmed the ruling out of the 23-year old pacer. He has not been a part of the training session in the recent few days and hence is not available for the selection either.

“Hasan Ali has been recovering well and is on track with his recovery from his adductor muscle injury in the groin. He has been committed to his rehabilitation and we are happy with his progress to date,” the PCB statement quoted.

The statement was issued from Jamaica by the Pakistan Cricket board. The statement further added that as soon as the pacer regains fitness, he will join the training camp and make his way back to the Test side.

“He will make a successful return to full training over the coming days, and regain appropriate match fitness to return to play,” the statement added.

This was the first instance when the rookie player was drafted in the Test line up. In his short international career, he has played 16 ODIs and 7 T20Is for the country. Talking about the series, the 3-match Test series is the farewell series for the two stalwarts of the Pakistan cricket. Misbah Ul Haq and Younis Khan will be retiring post the series.
