Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is confident about India’s chances in the upcoming T20 World Cup 2021, scheduled to be played from October 17 to November 14 in the UAE and Oman. The multi-team tournament was earlier to be hosted in India, although the Covid-19 situation in the country forced the BCCI and ICC to shift the base to the emirates.

While the tournament is still over a couple of months away, all the participating teams have started their preparations in the form of bilateral events. With the Indian Premier League’s 14th edition preceding the T20 World Cup, the teams would get a good chance to acclimatize with the conditions.

Ahead of the same, Jadeja expressed his desire to make his team win. “Definitely, it’s a good opportunity to make my team win this time in the T20 World Cup. Whenever I get an opportunity, I try to give my 100%. I feel good representing my country in a big sporting event like the World Cup. It’s a special feeling,” Jadeja was quoted as saying to Timesofindia.com in an exclusive chat.

India’s last triumph in the T20 World Cup in 2007, which was incidentally the inaugural edition of the championship. The team managed to qualify for the finals after seven years, although Sri Lanka defeated them to clinch the 2014 title.

We have a big bright chance to win the England series: Ravindra Jadeja

Meanwhile, Jadeja is currently a part of the Indian team touring England for the five-Test series, which is a part of the second cycle of the World Test Championship. He scored 56 in the series-opener at Trent Bridge, though the encounter ended in draw after rain played spoilsport.

Jadeja, however, feels that India has a “bright chance” to win. “I think we have a big bright chance to win this series this time because we have a very good team. As far as batting, bowling, and fast bowling are concerned, we have a very good and balanced team. So, yes, we have a good chance to win the series in England,” Jadeja said.

The second Test of the series begins on August 12 at Lord’s, followed by Headingley (Aug 25-29), Kennington Oval (Sep 2-6), and Old Trafford (Sep 10-14).
