Shahid Afridi led the ICC World XI side in the charity game against Windies at the Home of Cricket on Thursday. He received the guard of honour from his teammates as well while walking out on the field after he opted to bowl first after winning the toss. The 38-year-old has come out of his retirement several times in his career for his country and this time he played an international game for a cause. However, he gave an important update on his international comeback during the game.

Nasser Hussain was seen on the field commentating when the game was in progress in the first innings. He was interviewing players in between the deliveries and hilariously was standing at the slips and other field positions as well. After delivering one of his overs, he got hold of Afridi and asked him about the experience of playing at the Home of Cricket.

Thats it, says Afridi

Shahid Afridi felt it was an honour to play at Lord’s, and cleared that this was his last international game while he also confirmed that there will be no more comebacks. “It’s an honour for me to play my last international game at the Home of Cricket,” he said. However, when asked if he will be coming back to international cricket wittily by Hussain, he laughed out loud and said, ” No that’s it. You can see my situation with the injury.”

As far as his performance in the game is concerned, Afridi scalped the wicket of Andre Fletcher while conceding 34 runs in his four-over spell. He failed with the bat and could only score 11 runs off 12 balls with a solitary four. Unfortunately, his team lost the match by 72 runs as Windies live up to the tag of World Champions and played brilliantly with Evin Lewis being named the Man of the Match for his breezy knock of 58 runs at the top of the order.
