Bangladesh were beaten to death in the first match of their tour to the Caribbean Islands as the hosts made a mockery of their batting on a juicy track. Kemar Roach bagged a 5-wicket haul in the five overs he bowled in the first hour of the game and Bangladesh were knocked down for just 43 runs. The hosts made 406 runs with help of some brilliant batting by their top order. Things didn’t change any bit for the visitors as they were reduced to 63/7 in their 2nd innings before their keeper-batsman Nurul Hasan scored 64 to push his team’s total to 144 before wraps.

12 – Kemar Roach took five wickets in a space of 12 balls during the first innings. These are the joint fewest balls taken by a bowler to claim five wickets in a Test inning. Monty Nobel and Jacques Kallis also claimed five wickets in a space of 12 balls.


33 – Bangladesh’s first innings is the 33rd instance when a team didn’t concede any extras in a completed inning. It is also the first such instance in Test cricket in the Caribbean Islands.


43 – Bangladesh team’s total of 43/10 in their first innings was the joint 10th lowest total in Test cricket and the lowest in the last 44 years. This is also their lowest Test total surpassing 62 against Sri Lanka back in 2007.

This is also the lowest for any side in Windies and also the lowest against Windies in Test cricket. England’s total of 46/10 in the 1994 Port of Spain Test was the previous lowest Test total against Windies and also in the Caribbean.


112 – Bangladesh’s first innings lasted 112 balls which is the 8th shortest completed Test innings and the 2nd shortest first innings of a Test. Australia were bowled out in 18.3 overs (111 balls) in the first innings of the 2015 Nottingham Test against England.


113 – Windies’ opening stand of 113 is their first-century partnership in 64 innings. Their last century opening partnership in Test cricket was 143 also coming against Bangladesh in the 2014 Gros Islet Test.


187 – Bangladesh’s match aggregate of 187 is the lowest by them in a Test match where they batted in two complete innings. Their previous lowest Test match aggregate was 226 runs in the 2002 Dhaka Test.


219 – Windies’ winning margin of innings and 219 runs in this game is their biggest innings victory in a home Test.


354 – Number of balls Bangladesh batted across both the innings in this Test match. There are the 2nd fewest balls faced by any side across two completed innings in a Test in the last 66 years. Pakistan were dismissed twice in 340 balls by Australia in the 2002 Sharjah Test.
