'Wish you were the president when yo-yo test was in demand' - Yuvraj Singh takes a sly dig at BCCI in his tweet congratulating Sourav Ganguly

Sourav Ganguly, the former Indian skipper was recently elected as the President of BCCI. He was garnered by wishes from across the globe. And several cricketers have positively reacted towards this move taken unanimously by the association. Dada was one of the influential cricketers in Indian cricket history. Now, Yuvraj Singh has come out hailing the new achievement of Prince of Bengal.

Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian all-rounder is one among those talents that were nurtured by Ganguly in his early days. He, later on, played an important role in winning the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup for India.

Yuvi feels that it will be great that the new administrator of BCCI is a cricketer. So it will be great to make people understand the role of a chief from the cricketer’s viewpoint. He also trolled the BCCI who didn’t pick him up for Team India after clearing yo-yo test which was the major reason for his ouster from the national squad. Yuvraj took his retirement from all forms of cricket back in August 2019.

He took to his Twitter handle and wrote a long heartfelt message for his former skipper, “Greater the man greatest the journey! Frm IndianCaptain to @BCCI president. Think it will b a gr8 insight 4 a cricketer to be an administrator & make others understand admin frm a players point of view Wish u were d president while d yoyo was in demand good luck dadi @SGanguly99.”

Ganguly was quick in replying to Yuvraj to his tweet and also mentioned that it was Chandigarh-born player who helped India in lifting two World Cups. And said it is the time to do something good for cricket, “Thank u the best .. u have won India world cups .. time to do good things for the game now .. u r my superstar .. god bless always,” Ganguly replied.

Prince of Bengal’s tenure as Indian’s chief will start from 23rd October 2019 and he will hold this post for at least 9 to 10 months. Ganguly had scored 7212 runs in red-ball cricket whereas 11,363 runs in ODIs for Team India before taking his retirement back in 2008.
