Over the past few years, the Indian cricket team has seen a fair share of players who are either good at playing pranks, or good at keeping the dressing atmosphere jolly all the time. If the past Indian team had Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, and Yuvraj Singh as the biggest pranksters, then the current team players under skipper Virat Kohli has Shikhar Dhawan and Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant among a few others.

Kohli is also very fun-loving off the field and is close friends with Dhawan and Ishant Sharma. The trio played for Delhi in the Ranji Trophy and have developed a close bond since their Under-19 days. While Dhawan is senior to both of them, the southpaw played a few matches when they turned out for the Delhi team.

During his appearance in the 2017 season of Breakfast with Champions, Virat Kohli revealed some interesting facts about his teammates and praised a few players such as MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, and Yuvraj Singh. But what caught the attention of the viewers was the hilarious incident with Dhawan during one of the state-level matches.

Apparently, Kohli was irritated by one of his Delhi teammates, who constantly kept praising him about his equipment. He didn’t like how this newcomer was behaving and spread the word to his teammates.

Dhawan’s answer was what left everyone in the splits as he said, “Ha yar, woh na banda sahi hai par sabke notebooks mein aane ki koshish karta hai. (He’s a good guy, but he’s trying to be in everyone’s notebooks — instead of goodbooks).” Even during the show, Virat Kohli laughed his heart out while narrating the incident.

Virat Kohli currently in England

Meanwhile, the India skipper is currently in England leading the team in a five-match Test series. After the first two matches, the visitors are leading the series 1-0 having dramatically won the Lord’s Test earlier this week. Tempers flared during the game and that motivated the whole team to perform well in crunch moments and eventually won the match.
