Preview:

Sydney Sixers are pitted against Hobart Hurricanes in what promises to be an exciting encounter in WBBL 2019. Both teams have experienced contrasting fortunes this year. Although they started off brightly with a win against the Renegades, Hobart Hurricanes find themselves at seventh in the Points Table.

On the other hand, Sydney Sixers are one of the favourites despite a loss to Brisbane Heat last week. With four wins in six games, the Sixers will eye a win on Wednesday, which should take them to second place. However, they come across a well-rounded Hurricanes side with the likes of Maisy Gibson and Tayla Vlaeminck impressing with the ball. Nevertheless, Sydney Sixers will be the favourites heading into this game although Hurricanes should prove to be a worthy opponent.

Weather Condition/Report:

The weather forecast is great for Wednesday with no rain expected during the course of the game. However, overcast conditions are on the cards with cloud cover and humidity of 76% and 52% respectively at the start of the game. The temperatures will range between 11 and 13 degrees, paving the way for a good game of cricket.

Pitch Condition/Report:

Not much is known about this venue in Launceston although teams would ideally prefer to bat first. Pitches this WBBL have tended to be good for batting with scores of over 150 being a fairly common sight. It shouldn’t be on different for this game with the new ball bowlers also expected to get some help up front.

Top Picks:

Despite scoring a hundred earlier in the tournament, Allysa Healy has only 204 runs in six games. Although she does average 40.80, thanks to her hundred, she is due for another big knock in WBBL 2019. Dane van Niekerk has been the standout player for the Sixers with vital contributions with both bat and ball. She has picked seven wickets so far with a tournament-best average of 12.14 only.

Heather Knight has also done well in both departments although it has been her batting that has done most of the talking. Her tally of 213 runs in seven games is impressive as she looks good for more runs heading into this crucial clash.
