UP Warriorz Women’s WPL 2027 retention list: Full list of retained players

UP Warriorz have announced their list of retained players on September 28 for the 2027 Women's Premier League season. The northern side has retained a strong core of 11 players, with six high-profile releases from the squad. 

In the four seasons of the WPL, the Warriorz have yet to make the final even once, with their best finish coming in the inaugural 2023 season, where they finished third on the points table and made the playoffs. The side was led by legendary Australian captain Meg Lanning in the 2026 season, where they finished at the bottom of the table in fifth place.

Lanning is one of four major overseas retentions, alongside fellow Aussie batter Phoebe Litchfield, English left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone and USA left-arm seamer Tara Norris. All-rounder Deepti Sharma leads the Indian retentions, alongside the likes of Harleen Deol, Kranti Gaud, Shikha Pandey, and Pratika Rawal.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the fifth edition of the tournament is scheduled to take place from January 14 to February 7, 2027, with the mini auction set to take place on October 28, 2026 at the Grand Hyatt in Kochi.
