Team India registered their third victory in the ongoing Women’s World Cup with a 110-run win over Bangladesh. With three wins and as many losses, Mithali Raj and her side is sitting on the edge for qualifying for the semi-final of the ongoing World Cup. Six-time champions Australia and South Africa have already qualified for the semis. West Indies are in the third position with seven points as England and India are tied in fourth and fifth positions respectively with six points each.

Speaking about the previous encounter with Bangladesh, skipper Mithali had won the toss and opted to bat first. The top three batters all got good starts. The trio of wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosh, Pooja Vastrakar, and Sneh Rana all provided the late flourish to help India in posting 229/7 in the 50 overs. For Bangladesh, Ritu Moni was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3/37 in ten overs.

Salma Khatun top-scored for Bangladesh in the chase with her knock of 32 runs as they got bundled out for just 119 runs in 40.3 overs. Sneh Rana took 4/30 in her spell as India eased past the neighbors to secure a big win. South Africa’s previous clash with West Indies got abandoned due to rain. If India beat the Proteas and England defeated Bangladesh in their match then India and England will go through to the semis.
