New Zealand became the first team in this WT20 to register a berth in semifinal after they continued their good form and defeated Pakistan by 22 runs at the PCA Stadium, Mohali. After winning the toss, New Zealand decided to bat first and Martin Guptill along with Captain Williamson got their side to a flying start. However, New Zealand slowed down in middle overs after Guptill’s dismissal for 80. But Ross Taylor towards the end helped New Zealand finish at 180/5 in 20 overs.
