The World T20 being played in the India meant one obvious thing – plenty of help for the spinners. The opening game of the Super 10 between India and New Zealand at Nagpur was a big example of it. The tournament was majorly spin dominated with spinners banking on the slow dry surfaces at various venues. So, it was quite certain that the top wicket-takers chart would be spinner dominated. And, as expected, the slow bowlers were superior to their fast bowling counterparts with four of the five highest wicket takers of the recently concluded mega event featured spinners. 5. He was quite instrumental with the new ball for the runner-ups England. He showed his capability to snap early wickets and then contain runs in the death overs very effectively. Willey finished with 10 wickets in 6 games. He registered his best figures of the tournament against West Indies in the final of the where he had highly impressive figures of 3/20. 4. He was very reliable and forged a successful partnership of fellow left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner. Sodhi played in all the 5 games in the Super 10 stage and picked 10 wickets at an average of 12 while maintaining a miserly economy rate of 6.10. 3. Nobody knew about the New Zealand left-arm spinner before he toppled the Indian at Nagpur in the opening game of the Super 10, registering his career best figures of 4/11. He continued having an impact there on, challenging the batsmen with his accuracy and control. Santner finished with 10 wickets in 5 matches at an outstanding average of 11.40. 2. Rashid Khan – 11 wickets: Afghanistan cricketer Rashid Khan. (Photo Source: Twitter) Rashid Khan outclassed each and every leg-spinner in the tournament. The 17-year-old Afghanistan spinner showed immense maturity and canniness in his bowling and did extremely well against top nations. His nippy leg breaks and well disguised googly made him very hard to target and go after. The young leg-spinner snapped 11 wickets in 7 matches. His best figure figures were 3/11 against Zimbabwe. The wonderful part about him is that his most notable performances in the World T20 have come against strong opponents. 1. Mohammad Nabi – 12 wickets: Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan. He always makes sure that he contributes to the team either with the bat or with the ball. He is a real asset to the team. This World T20, he was silent with the bat but performed his duties with the ball, taking 12 wickets in 7 games with best bowling figures of 4/20 which he took against Hong Kong in the qualifiers.
