Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza said: “We wanted to bat first as well. I think we have to bowl in the right areas, restrict them to a decent total and chase it down. People are shocked after the last match. Hopefully we can win today. We have to leave the last match behind and play hard today. We are playing anunchanged side.”
Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson at the toss said: “We are going to bat. Looks like a dry surface, not too much grass. It might be the spinning one again. I think it is important that your feet are firmly on the ground. Nathan McCullum comes in for Adam Milne, Henry Nicholls is playing in place of Martin Guptill, who is just taking a precautionary game off.”
New Zealand won the toss and have opted to bat first in the World T20 dead rubber.
Scott Styris at the pitch report said, “This is the second time they are playing on this pitch. It was used for the Pakistan-Bangladesh game. There are a lot of cracks and the spinners will come into play.”
