Shahid Afridi: “It is a fresh surface. It is hard and if the bowlers bowl well, it would do something. We can’t focus on the last game. Lot of people to support for us. Hafeez is not fit and Riaz is rested. Khalid Latif and Imad Wasim are playing.”

Kane Williamson: “We are gone to have a bat. The wicket looks pretty good. There is a bit of grass, but it is dry. We are playing the same team. We have a bunch of guys playing for the same cause.”

Players XI:

New Zealand: Kane Williamson(c), Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Corey Anderson, Ross Taylor, Grant Elliott, Luke Ronchi(w), Mitchell Santner, Mitchell McClenaghan, Adam Milne, Ish Sodhi.

Pakistan : Sharjeel Khan, Ahmed Shehzad, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Sarfraz Ahmed(w), Shahid Afridi(c), Imad Wasim, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Sami, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Irfan

Toss: New Zealand have won the toss and have opted to bat

The dark horses have proved their worth! New Zealand, with two back to back wins against India and Australi, are currently going very strong. All plans have worked for the young skipper Kane Williamson and his team looks upbeat.

Pakistan will have a tough game against and will be well aware of the threat they pose currently. A loss here today mean they will be virtually out of the tournament. Both teams have so far played on slow turning wickets. But, Mohali will be different. The pitch is expected to be green so expect a different sort of play from both the teams. A high scoring game looks on the cards.
