Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh is thrilled with his son’s comeback to the Indian T20 team for the Australian tour. Yograj insisted that players of his son’s calibre should not be dropped just because of some bad innings. “He (Yuvraj) has always been a very special player for India. I am not saying this because he is my son but because I have coached him. I always knew he was going to make a comeback because of the way things were going. I think the best thing that has happened to him is that both Yuvraj and Hazel are on the same level as far as fitness is concerned,” Singh was quoted by ANI.
The father was still critical of the management’s decision to keep Yuvi out of action for so long. “His comeback was always on the cards. When he was dropped I was very much hurt because such great players cannot be dropped just after few bad innings. You got to push them up. A player must be pushed ahead when they are going down and I wish him all the best and I hope he wins lots of matches for India,” he added.
The out-of-favour southpaw has made a comeback to the Indian team as he has been included in the 15-member squad for the upcoming three-match T20 series against Australia.
