India all-rounder Stuart Binny has played 6 Tests, 14 ODIs and 3 T20Is for his country. But he has been on the sidelines for quite some time now and is playing domestic cricket for Nagaland. However, during the period he donned the India jersey, Binny made sure he scripted history thanks to his exceptional bowling in Dhaka against Bangladesh in 2014.

Team India was defending a paltry 105 in a rain-affected game, and they needed a special effort with the ball to win the match. And it was Stuart Binny who put his hand up and single-handedly demolished the opposition with his bowling. The hosts were sitting pretty at 44/2 in the 12th over when he began to wreak havoc.

By the time, Bangladesh could’ve realised what hit them, they were bundled out for 58 runs six overs later. Binny had picked six wickets out of the last eight and conceded only four runs in 4.4 overs he bowled. The figures are still the best for India in ODI cricket. Recalling the heroic spell, the all-rounder states that he still gets the goosebumps after watching his performance.

He is also happy that he performed well for the team when they were under pressure. “I still get goosebumps when I watch that video to be honest. You can’t ask for better days than that. It was a game where we didn’t get too many runs on the board and we were under pressure from ball one. It was a wicket that wasn’t bad but we were on and off the field because of rain,” Stuart Binny said while speaking to Sportskeeda.

I couldn’t have asked for a better wicket, says Stuart Binny

The 36-year-old also cited that the pitch wasn’t too bad at the Sher-e Bangla National Stadium but said that the constant showers added the moisture to the surface. “The covers came on and off and on and off. There was a little moisture in the surface and it suited my bowling. I could not have asked for a better wicket on that day to suit my bowling,” he further said.
