Manoj Tiwary, the Indian cricketer has revealed that post-retirement from competitive cricket. After bidding adieu to all forms of the game, he wants to try his hands in 10-metre rifle shooting. Moreover, the right-handed batsman has a dream of representing India in that specific category in the Olympics.

The 34-year-old made his international debut back in 2008 against Australia and since then, he has played 12 ODIs and 3 T20Is. He is quite a talented batsman but a sudden dip in his form with the bat and ignorance of the selectors in his case turned out to be the reason behind his ouster from the national side. He played his last international game in 2015 against Zimbabwe in which he could only score 10 runs for the Men in Blue.

Manoj Tiwary shares his post-retirement plans 

After getting dropped from Team India, Tiwary went back and tried his level best to attract the selectors on the back of his convincing batting performances. However, they were never somehow enough in getting him a place in the national team.

So, far he has played 125 first-class games for Bengal and scored 8965 runs with 27 tons and 37 half-centuries. Meanwhile, Tiwary also played for some IPL franchises in the past including Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals, Rising Pune Supergiant and Kings XI Punjab.

Recently in an interview, Manoj Tiwary opened up on his post-retirement plans from cricket. He said that people might get to see him playing in 10-metre rifle shooting. As per him, he wants to represent India in Olympics in that category. The 34-year-old also added the fact that there are some big responsibilities on his shoulder and let’s see how things will shape going into the future.

The right-handed batsman recited in the affirmation that he will try to take out some time from his busy schedule and try his hands in the rifle shooting.

“You might end up seeing me taking up 10-metre rifle shooting and having a go in the Olympics as well. Something which I want to do. But now you know the other responsibilities of an individual are always there. It’s not easy, but let us see how I can take time out of a busy schedule and give some time to 10-metre rifle shooting as well,” Manoj Tiwary said as quoted by Outlook.
