Yuvraj Singh can't stop laughing after discovering the Chinese term for Cricket

Cricket is the sport majorly played in 10-15 countries and the International Cricket Council is taking all the efforts to globalize the game across the world. In their attempt for the same, as many as 65 countries are contesting to qualify for the World T20 in 2020 in Australia. Recently, even the Chinese players were seen participating in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, they revealed the Chinese term for Cricket during an interview and Yuvraj Singh was left in splits after hearing it.

Peshawar Zalmi, in their quest to promote the game, had signed two players from China for the third edition of the T20 competition. Yufie Zhang and Jian Li, the two Chinese cricketers, joined the franchise last week in the middle of the tournament. Naturally, there was a lot of buzz around their inclusion and were interviewed during the match on the same day.

During the interview, they revealed that the Chinese term for Cricket in ‘Bancho’ which is hilarious as the meaning of the same word in Hindi is not so good.

Yuvraj Singh, meanwhile, who is out of the Indian team, came across the video of the interview which went viral soon. He was left in splits after knowing the Chinese term for Cricket and wondered if they had called any Punjabi to name the word for the sport in China. He posted the video on Instagram for his followers and captioned it as, “Cricket in Chinese called bancho! looks like they called a Punjabi to name it in China.” While the term is hilarious, this step from Peshawar Zalmi to promote and globalize cricket is worth praising.

Yuvraj Singh, however, is still out of the national team is striving hard to make a comeback in the national side. Recently, he also cleared that he will take a call on his career after 2019 and is eyeing to make a comeback in the team for the World Cup next year in England.
