Although Kevin Pietersen has decided to stay off the cricket field for the 10th edition of the IPL, he has been a regular in the commentary box. In less than a week, KP has impressed one and all with his insightful analysis during the game, and of course his occasional humour. It wouldn’t be unfair to say that Kevin Pietersen has been the find for this season of the IPL, as far as commentators are concerned of course.

Pietersen has given viewers many a reason to laugh. During the match between Rising Pune Supergiant and Mumbai Indians, KP took a dig at MS Dhoni, reminding him that he is a better golfer than MSD. However, the witty gentleman that Dhoni is, he quickly responded with, “He’s still my first test wicket.” All this happened as Manoj Tiway, who was miked up for the game, played the role of the mediator.

India’s star batsman Yuvraj Singh, playing for defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, took to Twitter to poke fun at Pietersen. Yuvi noticed that Kevin was sporting bright yellow socks during his pre-match analysis of the RCB-KXIP match. Being the comic that he usually is, Yuvraj pounced on the opportunity to send out a tweet to his friend KP.

“Looking sharp in those yellow socks mate! Hope you’re well. Yours truly, the Piechucker,” Yuvraj Singh tweeted.

However, Kevin Pietersen saw the funny side of things and replied to the left-handed batsman saying, “Love you! Not your bowling!”

Kevin Pietersen brings about him a sense of entertainment as he goes about his job in the commentary box. The Englishman, who made his debut in the IPL commentary box, also features in the pre-match show Extraaa Innings T20 on Sony Six.
