Yuzvendra Chahal cheekily reveals an important part of the game he’s working on

Indian leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is getting ready to participate in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 where he will be seen plying his trade for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Chahal has been one of the best players for RCB since shifting from Mumbai Indians in 2014.

The spinner from Haryana first grabbed eyeballs when he took 34 wickets in the National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy in 2009, ending the tournament as the leading wicket-taker. And since playing for RCB, has made his mark for the Indian team as well, forming a potent spin bowling attack with Kuldeep Yadav.

Chahal also holds the record for the best bowling figures by an Indian in T20Is – 6/25 against England in 2016. After taking 23 and 21 wickets respectively in 2015 and 2016 for RCB, the leggie has gone onto account for a total of 82 scalps in 70 matches with a best of 4/25 in the T20 league

Working on his batting skills

Yuzvendra Chahal recently came into limelight for his batting exploits as well, when he top scored for India in an ODI against New Zealand on their tour abroad. The Men in Blue were bowled for a paltry score of 92 runs and Chahal was the highest scorer for the team. Since then, he has made it a point to mention it in his interview segment ‘Chahal TV’, where he interviews members of Indian men’s and women’s cricket team.

Yuzvendra Chahal has picked up 72 wickets in 41 ODIs and 46 wickets in 31 Tests with the best of 6/42 in ODIs, which came against Australia in Australia. These are the joint-best bowling figures by an Indian in an ODI match in Australia.

In a video posted by a fan on social media, Yuzvendra Chahal is asked about his preparations for the upcoming matches and he is sheepishly seen replying that he is working on his batting skills.
