If there was ever an award for the most entertaining, engaging social media personalities, Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal would have a certainly compete quite well. The leg-spinner is renowned for his hilarious social media antics, while he also is the host of a show named after him, Chahal TV, where he rather funnily interviews Indian cricketers after the team’s victories.

On August 1, on the occasion of Friendship Day, Chahal shared a tickling post where he could be seen swinging the bat alongside his IPL teammates at the Royal Challengers Bangalore, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. The clip is from a photoshoot where the three players were shadow batting.

This is not the first time when Chahal, who is not known for his skills with the bat, showed his ‘batting’ antics. Earlier this year, the leg-spinner was introduced by the RCB as their ‘back-up opener’ on Instagram, as he was playing some sumptuous drives and cuts in a short video posted by the franchise’s official account.

Meanwhile, he was recently a part of India’s 25-member squad that travelled to Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series. Chahal got an opportunity to regroup with his spin partner Kuldeep Chahal straight after the ICC ODI World Cup 2019. He was a part of the first two ODIs, while he was rested for the third when India made wholesale changes after gaining a 2-0 lead.

Disaster struck the Indian camp when Krunal Pandya tested positive for Covid-19, with Chahal deemed his close contact, which meant that he had to miss each of the three T20Is that followed. Later, he returned a positive test himself alongside Krishnappa Gowtham

Chahal to be back in action during IPL 2021

The RCB spinner did not have the most ideal time during the first half of the IPL 2021, which was suspended midway after Covid-19 cases emerged inside the bio-bubble of four different camps.

Virat Kohli-led RCB had one of their better seasons in 2021 as they stood third in the tally with five wins and two losses in seven fixtures at the time of season suspension. The tournament is set to resume in September in UAE.
