Zaira Wasim admits that she is in awe of Virat Kohli

Zaira, who was recently part of the movie 'Secret Superstar' revealed that the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has been her favourite cricketer for the past two years.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli has turned out to be the heartthrob of Indian cricket fans in recent times. He has not only led the team to great glory in all formats of the game and been the batting mainstay for them with utmost consistency. But is also the poster boy of Indian cricket in terms of fashion statement or off-the-field endorsements.

A lot of actresses have admitted that Kohli’s charm left in awe, including the likes of Anushka Sharma who is now his wife. The latest entree on the list is none other than the Dangal-fame actress Zaira Wasim. Zaira, who was recently part of the movie ‘Secret Superstar’ revealed that Kohli has been her favourite cricketer for the past two years at the announcement of the 11th edition of Bengaluru Midnight Marathon 2017 here in the city.

According to PTI, the actress said that skipper Virat Kohli is her favourite cricketer. “I am in awe of Virat Kohli, and who is not? ” she said in response to the question about her favourite cricketer.

A chance to play as Mary Kom

Zaira then went on talk about her favourite athlete, who is Mary Kom. The boxer has been a role-model for all the young women who aspired to be part of the sporting world. Further, she also said that if given a chance she would want to play Mary Kom on screen.

“I am in love with Mary Kom ever since I have been involved with the Rotary Club. She is my favourite; If it is happening (Mary Kom 3) I would love to do it.’ said the young actress.

The funds raised from the marathon that she promoted will be used for the infrastructure development, education and hygiene of seven government schools, impacting more than 4,000 students. Further, it would be just like any other marathon surrounded by entertainment, food and beverages according to the Race Director Gul Mohamed Akbar.
