POTM Ravindra Jadeja said:

"Was a day game so the wicket was slow. It was expected to be slow because it was quite warm. Wanted to build a partnership of 30-40 so that we have a platform for the end. The bowlers bowled well. Always looks a flat wicket in powerplay. But as the ball gets older, it doesn't come on very well. When you're playing at a new venue, you don't have an idea of how the pitch will be. Felt we were 15-20 short. My role is to build a partnership if we lose early wickets," Jadeja said.

Winning skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad said:

"Everyone believed the wicket was slow. Even low bounce. Just that the start we got, we were thinking of pushing till 180-200. After losing wickets, thought 160-170 was a good score. Don't know what he's doing, but even in preseason he was clicking 150kph (on Simarjeet). He didn't get too much chances, but it's never too late. Were thinking of going with impact batter, but then we thought the batter will give 10-15 runs, but he could give 2-3 wickets. Some of the guys were struggling with flu. Weren't even sure till the morning who's playing or not. To get the win, really happy with that," Gaikwad said.

Losing skipper Sam Curran said:

"Thought we bowled really well. Rahul Chahar and Harshal bowled really well, was pretty happy at the halfway point but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. The wicket was probably slower than we thought, we expected a little more pace and bounce, it was pretty similar throughout the game. Couple of days off and we go against RCB in a few days time so we need to move on and stay headstrong," Curran said.

All eyes are on the Punjab Kings (PBKS) as they gear up to face the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in what promises to be a high-stakes encounter at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. The race for the coveted top 4 spots on the points table is heating up, and every match counts. PBKS enter this clash with confidence riding high, having comfortably defeated CSK in their previous encounter. Their recent track record against CSK speaks volumes, with PBKS emerging victorious in their last five showdowns. This gives them a significant psychological edge heading into the game.

Key to Punjab's success has been their formidable batting lineup, which boasts of Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow at the top. With reliable performers like Rilee Rossouw, Shashank Singh, and Sam Curran in the middle order, the Kings possess the firepower needed to set or chase imposing targets. Lower down the order, the likes of Jitesh Sharma, Ashutosh Sharma, and Harpreet Brar provide additional depth and big-hitting ability.

CSK will look to channelize their batting firepower

On the flip side, CSK find themselves in a bit of a rut, having struggled in recent outings. With losses in three out of their last four games, they're desperate to regain their winning form. Ruturaj Gaikwad, in particular, will be feeling the pressure as captain, eager to inspire his team to a turnaround.

CSK will be relying heavily on their top order, with the onus on Ajinkya Rahane and Gaikwad to provide a solid foundation. The middle order, however, has been inconsistent, placing added importance on the performances of players like Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Sameer Rizvi. Moeen Ali, Daryl Mitchell, and the seasoned MS Dhoni bolster the batting lineup, offering hope for a resurgence.
