Courtesy of a tremendous batting performance in the Eliminator against Sydney Thunder, Brisbane Heat (HEA) have qualified for the knockout clash against the Melbourne Renegades (REN), which is slated to take place on January 29, at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne. The Renegades in the meantime were terrific in the league stage, finishing third on the table with seven wins under their belt.

However, the team needs to improve their batting as it collapsed under pressure at times. In a knockout match, they cannot afford something like that to happen. On the other hand, Brisbane batters were top-notch in their last game and they would hope to replicate the same on Sunday.

Thus, it can once again turn out to be a high-scoring affair. Meanwhile, the Renegades bowlers should be aware of the danger that the opponent batters possess and make a proper game plan according to that. Fawad Ahmed, who picked up three wickets in the previous match can prove to be instrumental for captain Aaron Finch once again.

Heat would hope to continue in the same manner, get a win and eventually get closer to the all-important final. Skipper Usman Khawaja was scintillating in the previous match, scoring 94 off 55 deliveries while Marnus Labuschagne scored 73 off 48 deliveries.

Later, Matt Renshaw played a brilliant cameo of 24 runs off just eight deliveries and based on that, Heat posted 203 runs on board after 20 overs. In what was a rain marred game, Michael Neser started well with the ball, as the team went on to clinch victory by eight runs (DLS method). Overall, they will be happy with their performance and expect another win under their belt in the Knockout.
