Team India locked horns with hosts New Zealand in the second game of the three-match ODI series that ended in no result as rain intervened the play. India batter Shubman Gill, who scored an unbeaten 45-run knock mentioned after the game that he wants to make the ‘most’ of the given opportunities.

The contest between the two heavyweights was called off due to rain. India were 89/1 in 12.5 overs when it started pelting down and the play couldn't be resumed again. Shubman, who remained unbeaten during his time at the crease voiced that he is not thinking too far ahead in relation to the forthcoming 50-over World Cup 2023 slated to be organised in India.

Furthermore, the batter wants to focus at the present producing maximum results in his favour with the given number of chances for team India.

“I am not looking that far (playing in the 2023 World Cup). Right now, my focus is to make the most out of the chances I get to play for the country and score big. This is what I am looking to do in this series as well,” told Shubman in the post-match press conference.

No need to have any talk with him: Shubman Gill

Shubman, who was at the crease along with the man in-form throughout the calendar year, Suryakumar Yadav, further stated that there were no requirements for any communication on the field with Suryakumar as the batter was just so ‘good’.
