I'm the kind of a player who puts my team first: Prithvi Shaw
The diminutive batter had scored 227 off 152 balls in the Vijay Hazare Trophy back in February 2021 against Puducherry. This was Prithvi's highest score until he went past the figure against Somerset. The Under-19 World Cup-winning captain admitted that he had his previous highest List A score of 227 in his mind when he was batting. Prithvi credited an all-round performance from the team and gave an insight into the selfless qualities he possesses.
"The 227 was in my head to be honest. I spoke to Whitey [Whiteman] when he was there and I told him it's 227, my highest score. But it was a good team effort all around. I always try and win matches for the team and I'm the kind of a player who puts my team first and then myself. If scoring like this can help my team to win, then I should continue this," Prithvi concluded.
