Colombo Strikers (CS) will lock horns with Dambulla Aura (DA) in the 8th match of the Lanka Premier League 2023 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy on August 5. Colombo Strikers have played two matches where they have won and lost a match each and are in the fourth position in the rankings. Dambulla Aura, on the other hand, have played three matches where they have won just one and are ranked third in the points table.

Colombo Strikers had squared off against B-Love Kandy in their last encounter where the toss was won by Colombo Strikers and they elected to bat. Strikers lost a wicket early but still managed to get a good start and scored at a good pace. They got a little slow towards the end but still managed to put up 157 runs on the board. Kandy did not start well and kept losing wickets at regular intervals as well. By the end of the innings, they could only manage to score 130 runs and lost the match by 27 runs.
Dambulla Aura had played against B-Love Kandy in their last match where Dambulla Aura won the toss and elected to bat. They made a cautious start choosing to bat and were going ahead briskly. Dhananjaya de Silva played a fine knock in the middle to improve the scoring rate and helped his team finish with 156 runs on board. Kandy, in reply, were sensational from the start and even though got a little slow in the middle but made up for it towards the end. They won the match comfortably by seven wickets with nine balls to spare.
