Preview

Sri Lanka are set to face Bangladesh in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. In the first ODI, Bangladesh were able to clinch a vital win to put a foot down in the series. They were able to chase down the mediocre total set by the visitors with six wickets in hand.

The hosts had a near-perfect game with both bat and ball. The trio of Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib were able to scalp three wickets each as they kept taking wickets at regular intervals. Their superb bowling was enough to bowl out the visitors at 255. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto took matters into his own hands in the chase as he scored an unbeaten hundred to take his team home.

Even though they lost the game, Sri Lanka had a lot of positives to take away from the first ODI against Bangladesh. A powerful 67-run knock by Janith Liyanage was crucial in making sure that Sri Lanka reached a fighting total. His good form suggests that the middle-order batting would surely be dependent on him. In terms of bowling, Dilshan Madushanka was the only bowler who could rack up multiple wickets. The left-arm seamer was able to pick out two wickets during his eight overs in Chattogram yesterday.
