The eliminator game of the Indian Premier League 2023 between Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (May 23). LSG finished in third place in the points table with eight wins in 14 matches. MI also won eight out of 14 games and were in fourth place in the points tally.

LSG have won their previous three games, including the last one against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR won the toss and opted to bowl. LSG scored 176 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs with the help of a half-century from Nicholas Pooran. In reply, KKR could make 175 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs and lost the game by one run.

MI faced Sunrisers Hyderabad in their previous game. SRH scored 200 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs while batting first. The openers, Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, provided a solid start to the team as they added 140 runs for the first wicket. MI chased down this total in 18 overs. Cameron Green scored his maiden IPL century to help MI reach the target and won the Player of the Match award.

LSG and MI have faced each other thrice in IPL so far, and LSG have won all these three games. This year, LSG scored 177 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs while batting first against MI. Marcus Stoinis scored 89 runs off 47 deliveries and played a crucial role for the team. In reply, MI managed to post a total of 172 runs and lost the game by a mere margin of five runs.
