The second edition of the World Test Championship (WTC) final will be played between India and Australia, at The Oval, in London, from June 7 to June 11. Notably, the Rohit Sharma-led side suffered multiple injury woes after the squad for the mega event was announced.

One of India's biggest concerns in the one-off Test will be the absence of the star opener, KL Rahul. The wicketkeeper-batter sustained an injury during a match between Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the IPL 2023 and was forced to pull out from the Test match.

Apart from Rahul, the left-arm pacer, Jaydev Unadkat, also suffered a shoulder injury while bowling in the nets for LSG in Lucknow, earlier this month. After suffering the injury, he sought medical advice from the BCCI personnel, had scans performed, and afterwards travelled to the National Cricket Academy (NCA), in Bengaluru for rehabilitation to regain his fitness.

However, he has fully recovered from his injury ahead of the WTC final. On Sunday, May 28, the 31-year-old pacer, shared a picture of himself on a flight bound for London on his official Instagram handle.

"WTC!" Unadkat captioned his post.

Jaydev Unadkat led Saurashtra to win the Ranji Trophy in 2022

After having a breakthrough season for the champions Saurashtra in the prestigious Ranji Trophy in 2022, the left-arm bowler will now look to keep up his sublime form for Team India. In the domestic first-class competition, Unadkat picked up 26 wickets in four games at a strike rate of 13.88. He also emerged as the highest-wicket taker in the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy, having picked up 19 wickets in 10 matches.

Meanwhile, he failed to perform well in the ongoing IPL 2023, as he did not pick any wickets in LSG's three games this season. Notably, Jaydev Unadkat played his last Test for Team India against Bangladesh in Mirpur, in December 2022, where he returned with three wickets.
