Unlike yesteryears, co-owner Shahrukh Khan has attended the majority of Kolkata Knight Riders’ matches so far in IPL 2024. The franchise has released multiple videos of him interacting with the players after the match and that has motivated the players to produce better results in the ongoing season. Notably, KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy opened up about having the Bollywood superstar in the dressing room and mentioned that he has made a huge impact on their campaign.

Chakravarthy said that Shahrukh has been extremely understanding, approachable and supportive even when KKR have failed as a team. The spinner mentioned that the actor has spoken to every cricketer in the dressing room and uplifted their spirits.

“SRK has been present in almost all matches in Kolkata. Even in the match where we didn’t do well, he came to the dressing room and spoke to every player for an hour and hugged everyone,” Chakaravarthy was quoted as saying by News18.

“He said ‘it’s just a match, cricket is changing, just try to be better in the next match’. This time, I see a massive difference because the way he has been very understanding, he’s been very approachable, it has made a huge impact. I also got to meet him for the first time,” he added.

Mumbai Indians are a very dangerous side: Varun Chakravarthy

Even though Mumbai Indians are eliminated from the playoffs race, Chakravarthy is not ready to take things lightly. He reminded that the five-time champions have quality players in their ranks, who can turn the game at any moment. The 32-year-old termed them to be a dangerous side and believes that KKR will have to be on their toes to beat them in their next match at Eden Gardens.

“We don’t have any edge over MI because they are out of the tournament. They are a champion side. They are full of stars and match winners, and a very dangerous team anywhere. Even if we have to win one match to qualify, we have to be well-prepared and on our toes and look to finish in top two,” Varun said.
