India started off their tour of Zimbabwe in an emphatic manner. They dominated the proceedings in the 3-match ODI series throughout and outplayed the hosts in every department to whitewash them 3-0. However, things turned grey when the two teams met in the first T20. A rather complacent team India succumbed to a 2-run defeat that was an alarming call for the visitors.

They came back strong in the match that followed and registered a thumping 10-wicket win. Earlier they had reduced Zimbabwe to just 99/9 in 20 overs and then the Indian openers went on to wrap things around with all 10 wickets intact. The 3rd T20I went on to be the series decider. India surely put on an under par score of 138 on the board. However, they bowled exceedingly well to restrict the opposition to just 135 runs and win the game by 3 runs.

Here are the player ratings for the team India in the series:

Lokesh Rahul had made a historic ODI debut when he became the first Indian batsman to score a century on debut. However, he had contrasting fortunes in the T20Is as he managed a golden duck on his T20I debut. Rahul however, came back good in the second game to score a decent unbeaten 47 and make a mark for himself in the shortest format. The last match saw him score 22 runs. He gave a good start to India on the occasion and hence showed the kind of form he was in. He was among the runs and hence had a decent tournament.
