5 players who are unlikely to make a comeback to the Indian T20I team
With the emergence of IPL, the contenders to feature in India’s shortest format has increased quite a lot.
3- Khaleel Ahmed
The left-arm pacer from Rajasthan last played an international game for India in 2019. Khaleel played 14 T20Is and 11 ODIs for India between 2018 and 2019. In 14 T20Is, he has 13 wickets to his name at a bowling average of 35.31. Ahmad made his T20I debut for India against West Indies in 2018 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
In IPL 2022, Khaleel is playing for the Delhi Capitals. There are a lot of fast bowlers who are the contenders to play international T20s for India. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Siraj, and T Natarajan may be preferred ahead of him. Due to the problem of plenty, it will not be easy for Khaleel to make it back to the Indian side.
As long as Khaleel’s IPL career is concerned, he has picked 43 wickets in 30 IPL games. Khaleel generally has an issue with his economy rate although he has a knack for picking up wickets. Khaleel was the teammate of Rishabh Pant and Ishan Kishan in the 2016 U-19 World Cup. Let’s see if he will be able to get an opportunity to play for India.
