The 13th edition of the Indian Premier League is all set to start from March 29, 2020. As the auction took place in December last year, all the teams tried to cover the loopholes that they had in their squad.

While most of the franchises tried to structure their squad surrounding the experienced players, the uncapped players also had their luck going in the right way as many of them, and deservingly so, earned some hefty amounts under the hammer.

Among the uncapped players, the Indian youngsters dominated the day in Kolkata. The under-19 batsman like Priyam Garg, Ravi Bishnoi and Yashasvi Jaiswal were roped in for amounts of INR 1.9 crore, INR 2 crore and INR 2.4 crore respectively. And as a result, the teenagers will be under immense pressure to justify their price tag. However, if they can, there are high chances that they could be on the Orange Cap and Purple Cap’s list.

The following list looks at certain uncapped Indian players who might be contenders for the spot of highest run-scorer in the upcoming 13th edition of the IPL:

A vastly experienced Mumbaikar, Suryakumar Yadav is a tragic story in Indian cricket. Given the stats he possesses in domestic cricket, him never donning the Indian jersey is quite astonishing. He brings a sense of formidability in the batting order and with his current form he holds a great possibility to fight for the Orange Cup while representing Mumbai Indians.

In the last Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, the domestic T20 tournament in Indian cricket, Suryakumar finished as the third-highest run-scorer after scoring 392 at an average of 56 while batting at a blitzkrieg rate of 168.97.

The 29-year-old holds a lion’s share of experience when it comes to playing in the IPL. In 85 matches, the right-hander has scored 1544 runs at an average of 28.07. Batting a strike-rate of 131.63, he has seven half-centuries under his name.
