Akshay Kumar cheers for the Indian Women's team, but gets the flag wrong

The finals of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup held at Lord’s on Sunday was a match that’s going to be etched in history forever. The entire nation prayed for the team and chanted their names as they battled it out on the field. And guess who was amongst the frenzied fans, running barefoot on a train platform to reach the stadium? It was Akshay Kumar! Reportedly, the actor dashed to board a train from Leeds to London barefoot, to make it in time to watch the Indian team bat their way to victory at the Women’s World Cup 2017 final match, between India and England. Although India fell short from clinching the title by 9 runs, they put up stellar performances all throughout the tournament. Akshay also tweeted a video update of his platform expedition. Akshay forgets the shoes and holds the flag wrong However, Akshay was brutally trolled in the social media for his blunder in holding the national flag. While cheering for the Indian team at Lord’s, he tweeted a photo of himself, waving the tricolour in vociferous of the India. Twiteratti were not impressed when they saw Akshay holding the flag upside. Looks like it wasn’t just the shoes that the Toilet: Ek Prem Katha actor forgot! Speaking at the post-match presentation ceremony, skipper Mithali Raj was indeed, justified in saying that she was proud of the team. With 29 runs to go and 33 balls and five wickets in hand, victory had seemed within reach at one point of time. But it was not to be. Incidentally, this was also the last edition of the tournament for the skipper Mithali and fiery pacer, Jhulan Goswami.
