The finalists of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2022 took a huge leap forward in the latest Women’s ODI Rankings. To start with, Australia’s opener Alyssa Healy secured the top spot in the rankings list after her prolific 170 (138) against England in the finals. She replaced South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt and jumped four spots to lead the ranking.

Healy was the top-scorer in the tournament as she ended her campaign with a whopping 509 runs, the most by any player in a Women’s World Cup event. She was also adjudged as the Player of the Match in the finals as well as the Player of the Tournament.

The top-10 list of batters now includes four Australians, with Healy on top, Beth Mooney at No. 3, skipper Meg Lanning at No. 5, and Rachael Haynes, the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament, jumping one spot up to No. 6. All four of them had a great time at the World Cup, and they all played a major role in Australia’s win.

Natalie Sciver, England’s star all-rounder, also gained big after her two centuries in the tournament. While both the knocks (109* and 148*) came against Australia for a losing cause, she anchored her team in the middle and remained unbeaten in both the games. She has now secured the second spot in the batters’ rankings and taken the No. 1 spot in the all-rounders’ list.

Notably, every player in the batting list had to shuffle their places with someone or the other after a thrilling encounter between Australia and England in the finals, and the team’s performance throughout the World Cup. The Women’s ODI Batters Ranking List was completely revamped.

England’s Sophie Ecclestone retained her top spot in the bowlers’ rankings as she finished the tournament as the highest wicket-taker, bagging 21 wickets in nine games at a magnificent economy of 3.83. She is followed by South African pacer Shabnim Ismail, who jumped one spot up to take the second place. The biggest gainer in the list is England’s Anya Shrubsole, who leaped five spots upwards to enter the top-10, and secure her name at the eighth place.
