India Women defeated Pakistan Women in a must-win encounter

Moreover, what was more exciting is that this was a do or die game for both the teams which made it more interesting.

Bowlers and Harmanpreet Kaur ensure that India Women win the game
This game was a high-pressure game for both the sides. In this must-win game, Pakistan Women opted to bat first after winning the toss. However, this decision didn’t pay great dividends for them. India Women were absolutely ruthless with the ball. They dismissed the inform Pakistani openers and skipper Maroof to restrict Pakistan to a small total.
Pakistan Women only managed to score 72 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their quota of 20 overs. Sana Mir was the leading run-scorer with 20 runs. Ekta Bisht picked 3 wickets. Chasing this small total, India Women were struck with huge blows initially. Skipper Mithali Raj was dismissed for a duck. Furthermore, Deepti Sharma who came in at No 3 was also dismissed for a duck and the team was down to 5/2 within the third over.
However, Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur kept their cool to help India get a 7-wicket win in the game. While Mandhana scored 38, Kaur stayed there till the end scoring 34 and she also hit the winning four. Ekta Bisht was the ‘Player of the Match’.
