The juggernaut of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has finally come to an end after a plethora of the matches played across 50 days. The attention of the fans will once again now shift to the International cricket as they await for the historic Test match between India and Afghanistan to begin from June 14. Meanwhile, the Indian Women’s cricket is also being followed these days courtesy of their brilliant show in the World Cup last year. However, the star cricketer Mithali Raj has come up with a cheeky reminder for the fans in her message on social media.

The Indian team led by Harmanpreet Kaur is currently in Malaysia for the upcoming Women’s Asia Cup T20 which is all set to commence on June 3. The first match of the tournament will be played between the Girls in Blue and the hosts as a total of 6 teams will fight it out for the ultimate glory. After the round-robin matches, the top two teams in the points table will clash in the final on June 10.

Mithali Raj’s message

Mithali Raj is the superstar of the Indian cricket and she has cheekily reminded the Indian fans to support them during the Asia Cup in Malaysia. She took to her official Twitter handle and wrote, “Feeling the void after the IPL? We’re in Malaysia for the #Asiacup2018 🙂 #justsaying See you, India?” No wonder the fans will be eager waiting for the tournament to start and would be rooting for Team India to bring the cup home.

Women’s IPL in store?

During the IPL, BCCI organised a one-off T20 exhibition game of Women and roped in as many as 10 cricketers across the world. Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur led the two teams named Trailblazers and Supernovas. The game garnered a lot of attention as the fans enjoyed it a lot. The BCCI is now pondering over a 3-4 team IPL for Women as well every year and it will be interesting to see how things pan out in the upcoming months.
