After the long, gruelling tour of England, Hardik Pandya was back in action during the Asia Cup. The all-rounder hardly had a week’s rest before he was back on the field in the game against Pakistan. With so much of cricket in the last few months, he should have been rested.

But, the selectors and the management played a gamble by picking him in the side. After bowling just 4.5 overs, he suffered an acute back injury on the follow through of his run-up. Pandya wasn’t even able to stand up on his feet and had to be stretchered off the field. The management will hope that he recovers completely before the Australia tour as he is going to be a critical part of India’s plans.
