Anil Kumble’s resignation has caused a lot of distress in the BCCI. The Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) has been hard at work for picking the next coach of the Indian team. The committee has been reviewing various applicants for the same and there are a few in contention.

The recent resignation has also caused a bit of confusion as Anil Kumble was supposed to be the coach for the West Indies tour now the committee has to pen down a name sooner. This issue will be up at the SGM. A BCCI member stated. He said that the decision on the coach will be taken at the SGM and even though there are many more important issue this problem will come up.

“Given that CK Khanna (acting BCCI president) has already said that the decision on coach be taken at the SGM, it’s likely that this issue will come up at the meeting, even though there are several other important things to be discussed,” a BCCI member was quoted as saying by Indian Express.

Annoyed CAC

The Cricket Advisory Committee consisting of three legends viz. Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman are a bit annoyed with the current situation. This is because their choice for the coach was Anil Kumble and Virat Kohli with some other senior players played it down. This has annoyed the CAC a bit.

A source close to the committee said that they might not consult any player be it the captain before making the final choice. “They have made it clear that while choosing the next coach, they may not consult the team or captain,” he added. “They have made their views clear. Let’s see how to go about it,” the stars said according to the source.

It will be quite interesting to see who gets the coveted job as BCCI is supposedly looking for more candidates.
