India predicted playing XI for 1st T20I against New Zealand
Selection options take shape as India prepare for the opening match of their T20I series against New Zealand on October 22.
Middle Order: Shreyas Iyer (C), Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Axar Patel
Shreyas Iyer captains the side and is expected to bat in the middle order, bringing 1694 T20I runs to the position. Tilak Varma, with 1840 T20I runs, is set to provide stability alongside the captain. Naman Dhir adds genuine all-round value, having scored 38 T20I runs and taken five wickets, making him a useful option in the lower middle order. Axar Patel strengthens the balance further with 787 T20I runs and 113 T20I wickets, giving the side a reliable spinning all-rounder who can contribute with both bat and ball across different match situations.
