The lower order and bowling attack feature four pace options. Arshdeep Singh leads the attack with 145 T20I wickets and is expected to open the bowling. Bhuvneshwar Kumar brings 90 T20I wickets and considerable experience in the seam department, offering control in the powerplay and at the death. Mayank Yadav, with 13 T20I wickets, provides genuine pace variety, while Prince Yadav adds another option with 10 T20I wickets. The four-pronged pace attack, supported by Axar Patel's spin, gives India a well-rounded bowling combination for the series opener.

India's predicted playing XI for the 1st T20I against New Zealand:

Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson (wk), Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer (c), Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Axar Patel, Mayank Yadav, Prince Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh
